Magic and maths have gone together for hundreds of years. The reasoning behind many magic effects is inherently mathematical and logical, and mathematical tools can reveal the secrets if you’re brave enough to use them.
This session can run as a lecture or a more hands-on workshop, for an hour or so, or a longer session.
It can work well with primary or secondary school students – but it’s helpful if we can at least look at some basic algebra without scaring everyone. There is material in this suitable for 10 year olds, up to 18 year old Further Mathematicians, and general public.
